Switchee devices act as smart thermostats in residents’ homes, automatically reducing energy bills, looking great, and offering control to those who want it. We are also revolutionising the way social landlords manage their housing stock with a SaaS property dashboard and handy alerts on things like when the boiler is going to break. The data is fed via API into the landlord’s housing management system or data lake to enable them to integrate the data with other sources and maximise the value.
Switchee’s game-changing solution offering includes our SaaS Landlord Platform, API integrations and data-driven insights to make our customers’ operations proactive rather than reactive - all backed by the installations of our smart thermostats in the homes they manage.
The role
With the Business Development Team having exceeded Targets by over 3x Year On Year the Commercial Team has expanded significantly enabling the newly created BD Team Leader Role, to continue that success.
This is a ‘Player-Manager’ role that requires an experienced ‘Challenger’ Sales Person that is able to lead and inspire a diverse Enterprise Business Development Team, whilst directly executing on your own targets.
Key goals are to:
Continue to exceed Individual & Team targets with consistent sales growth by continuously establishing new accounts and converting initial purchases to scale commitments.
Ultimately selling our products and data solutions consultatively to C-level executives within Social Housing
Support the BD Team on developing and implementing individual account strategies that deliver this scale business, driving repeat revenue generation.
By coaching, developing, training and providing a fulfilling environment to the BD Team.
Execute new business opportunities - growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, merchants, and deals - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
Have responsibility for your own sales pipeline, including prospecting, cold calling, and planning meetings
We are a company built on a strong technical foundation. You will need to be fluent in the digital scene as well as be able to understand the Switchee’s product and services.

Building pipeline for subsequent Financial Years
Forecast accuracy
Key metrics and KPI’s for the team that will deliver that growth
The development, wellbeing and performance of the BD Team
This role is critical to Switchee’s success and you will report into the Head of Commercial.
Switchee operates a growing but close-knit team with a big job to do so you'll be expected to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in!
Who you are:
Required experience:
At least 7+ years proven Enterprise Salesperson, versed in the Challenger Methodology and at least 1-2 years leading & coaching a sales team
Sold value based, ROI led systems of insight, SaaS or Data either in LocalGov & Social Housing or B2B large commercial /bluechip sectors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build relationships with others.
A great leader with outstanding people leadership skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet demanding client deadlines.
Working with and managing a large variety of stakeholders.
High attention to detail and a love of continuous learning and development.
Fluency with complex problems, large data sets and an ability to analyse them to drive improvements.
Previous Job Titles: Business Development Director, Sales Director, Head of Business Development, Senior/VP Sales, Head of Sales, Sales Manager, Account Director, Regional Sales Director / Manager.
Desirable experience:
Track record in leading effective sales teams
Fluency with complex problems, large data sets and an ability to analyse them to drive improvements.
These are ideal but not required - we will happily consider applicants who we believe can successfully grow into the role, even if they are not 100% qualified.
