Switchee Operations Apprenticeship Scheme
Introduction
The Switchee Apprenticeship Scheme is a 12-month program designed to provide talented individuals with hands-on experience across various departments, exposure to a structured training program, and a clear talent development pathway and progression opportunities within the company including specialist expertise and leadership.
This 12-month scheme will pay the Living Wage in accordance with the location of employees as well as have all the standard Switchee benefits.
Program Overview:
Duration: The Switchee Apprenticeship Scheme is a 12-month program, offering participants a comprehensive experience in different areas of the Operations team and broader access to the company.
Rotational Placements: Participants will undergo rotations in different teams within the Operations department. Successful candidates will complete rotations in the following teams and areas to gain a holistic understanding of the company's operations whilst adding real value to our day to day operations;
Supply Chain
- Thermostat device manufacturing
- Shipping & distribution
- Stock Management
- Purchasing
Installation Service
- Project Management
- Field Installation Visits
- Invoicing & administration
Support
- Resident support
- Installer support
- Service desk
Hands-On Experience: Throughout the scheme, participants will work closely with our experienced operations professionals, taking on real responsibilities, and actively contributing to day-to-day operations, and real-life projects from day one. This hands-on experience will develop and enhance a whole host of practical skills and provide insight into the day-to-day workings of Switchee.
Structured Training Program:
Induction: A comprehensive induction program will familiarise participants with Switchee's values, culture, and business operations.
Departmental Training: Each rotation will include tailored CIPD-accredited training sessions to develop specific skills relevant to the department, ensuring a well-rounded skill set by the end of the program.
Mentorship: Participants will be assigned a mentor from senior management to provide guidance, support, and share industry insights. Regular mentorship sessions will be scheduled to track progress and address any challenges.
Talent Development:
Performance Reviews: Regular performance reviews will be conducted to assess the participant's progress, strengths, and areas for development. Feedback will be provided to facilitate continuous improvement.
Career Development Plan: Towards the end of the program, each participant will work with their manager to create a personalised career development plan. This plan will outline their strengths, areas for improvement, and a roadmap for future career progression within Switchee.
Graduation and Career Placement:
Upon successful completion of the Switchee Apprenticeship Scheme, participants will be considered for permanent positions within the company. Placement decisions will be based on performance, potential, and organisational needs.
