Location
This is a remote-first permanent role with a mix of in-person team meetings, with mandatory 2-Day Quarterly Company Conferences across various UK locations and optional Monthly Socials in-person or virtually.

The Role
Switchee is looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team and be the key support to the Finance Director. This role will focus on closing month-end and being instrumental in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting.
As our Management Accountant you will own the core accounting processes for Management Accounting, while providing actionable insights that support performance and growth and ensuring the smooth operation of key financial processes.
You’ll be trusted to work autonomously as a remote employee, and the role will grow and evolve as Switchee grows.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, BS, cash flow) with variance analysis.
Produce detailed financial reports and dashboards for SLT and department heads.
Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements and serve as the main point of contact for external auditors.
Manage forecasting and budgeting at the cost centre level.
Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting
Operations & Compliance
Process and manage the monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
Handle stock management, including physical counts, reconciliations, and valuations. You would need to travel to our suppliers. We cover work-related expenses.
Prepare and submit timely VAT returns, adhering to all HMRC regulations.
Ensure all financial activities comply with accounting standards, tax regulations,& policies.
Leadership & Collaboration
Collaborate with non-finance colleagues, providing financial guidance and support.
Leading a small finance team, consisting of an Assistant Accountant and a Finance Assistant.
Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects.
Drive continuous improvement within the finance function
What are we looking for ?

Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Capable of supporting change initiatives that drive process and control improvements
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Who you are:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2-3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
Proven experience in preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and managing payroll.
Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Have the ability to control the full financial function to the month-end close
Demonstrated leadership potential and prior experience managing junior finance staff
You are likely to have a strong understanding of stock accounting principles
You are likely to have solid knowledge of Sage X3
You possibly have experience in the tech sector and a solid understanding of SaaS or digital business models
